Brief
Our clients have adjoining patio gardens opening out onto a communal space serving a number of apartments. Unfortunately the developers had laid only a small amount of uninteresting paving which left no practical room to use a table and chairs. The bare walls also dominated the space and needed softening.

Solution
The gardens were given interest by introducing a mix of materials, using a combination of natural sandstone with red brick edging to match the building, and timber decking.

Much more space for relaxing and entertaining was also achieved by continuing the hard landscaping between the three sets of patio doors.

Pretty planting in a palette of soft blues, lavenders and whites completed the picture, with scented climbers clothing the bare brick walls and hiding the ugly pipe work.
