Ronacrete’s Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing as seen at the RHS Hampton Court Show
The paths through the Sustainability Garden you visited at the Hampton Court Flower Show are constructed using the Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing System, manufactured by Ronacrete Ltd. Since 1969, Ronacrete have been recognised as one of the UK’s leading specialists in design and production of high performance surfacing systems for private and commercial clients.
Here at Hampton Court, in keeping with “green” and sustainability, we have used coloured glass, produced from old glass bottles, crushed, graded and cleaned for use with our special resin. It is “tumbled” to remove sharper edges, making it safer. The chosen colours tied in with those of the main sponsor.
To meet the growing interest in environment, green and carbon reducing practices, the amount of resin which has to be mixed with the glass aggregate has been kept to a minimum to provide cost/performance/environmentally-friendly benefits. Also, the resin is manufactured using safer components to protect the client, the installer and the environment, including water courses.
Importantly the Ronadeck system allows rain water to freely drain through the surface, avoiding water forming puddles on the surface, preventing water logging and helping meet the requirements of the new 2008 SuDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage) regulations.
As well as the glass surface which you saw at Hampton Court, the Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing System is more commonly used with natural stone aggregates to provide car surfaces for driveways, parking areas, access roads and in pedestrian areas such as footpaths, in parks, around fountains, museums, National Heritage and Trust properties.
