Professional Couple's Entertainment Oasis
In order to increase the apparent width of the space, a series of rectangles set on an angle were created, consisting of a deck immediately outside the bi-fold doors leading to paving and lawns.
Our client asked for something stylish and contemporary with clean lines near the house, but for something more traditional towards the rear, together with a wildlife pond at the back to take the newts inhabiting the old pond.
Our clients had two small children and wanted a play area with a lawn and space for the grown-ups too, including a dining area near to the house and a large workshop at the rear of the garden.
The aim was to provide the two small children with some dedicated play space and a pleasing garden for the adults to enjoy together with a paved area large enough to entertain in.
This was a typical long, narrow suburban garden with an ugly concrete patio and a boring rectangular lawn with sparse planting.
