Urban & City Gardens
The challenge of a city or urban garden is often limitations of space and the need to create a private and tranquil space amongst the hustle and bustle of the city.
Our wide experience of small urban garden design and our expertise in roof garden design will ensure that we will design a perfect Urban or City garden for you.

Our first concern with this garden was to give our clients the security and privacy they needed but as this was a listed building, we had first to approach the local council for permissions.
The owner of this small courtyard garden is a musician who spends much of his time travelling, he therefore needed a low maintenance scheme, but with the ‘wow’ factor to welcome him home.
We needed to incorporate his bespoke smoker/barbecue and a large table with benches for his frequent entertaining.
Our clients wanted to transform this urban wasteland into a low maintenance outside space where they could entertain, party and relax. They wanted some greenery, including a small lawn and plenty of colour.
The roof terrace has spectacular views over interesting surrounding buildings, including the Natural History Museum, but the inhospitable, exposed, sloping space made entertaining and relaxing difficult.
This is a large roof terrace wrapping around three sides of a modern city apartment in Camden, North West London. The significant glazing to the apartment takes advantage of the far-reaching views towards Hampstead Heath to the north-west and the City of London to the south-east and our clients wanted a garden they could be proud of from which to enjoy them.
A steep staircase with high risers and narrow treads down from the drawing room made this a potentially treacherous space for the children, or adults alike, as well as taking up garden space.
This garden was on two levels with a small well area outside the basement kitchen.
This was the tiny garden to a terraced Victorian house belonging to a young family.Coming from Australia, our couple really missed the outside space for barbecuing and entertaining.
This garden had previously been designed with a series of ‘rooms’ to disguise the length and narrowness of the plot.
In order to increase the apparent width of the space, a series of rectangles set on an angle were created, consisting of a deck immediately outside the bi-fold doors leading to paving and lawns.
Our clients wanted an elegant dining area making the best use of the space and in a style in keeping with the property and its interiors.
