Here are some of the questions our team are frequently asked.
If you have any questions about our service, please pick up the phone and call us on 0844 884 2425.
How long does a garden design take?
Once we’ve carried out the initial consultation and survey, andyour design brief has been signed off, it’ll take us two to four weeks to complete our research and complete your hand drawn and coloured garden design.
Will there be a lot of mess?
We always aim to cause minimal disruption to your day, and to keep mess to an absolute minimum. We’ve worked on many challenging sites, and once we’ve visited the site and worked out issues such as access, we can make a plan to ensure things go smoothly. We always ensure the site is left as tidy as possible at the end of each day.
Can we change design ideas during the build?
It would depend on the changes you wish to be made, and how far along we are with the work. Your designer and project manager will collaborate with you during the project, and can advise how we could incorporate any changes you request during the build.
How much does a garden design cost?
It’s impossible to give an average price, as we work on a huge variety of projects from small courtyards to country estate gardens. Your final fixed price will depend on the size of the project and the complexity of the design.
Will the garden be easy to maintain after it has been finished?
In 25 years no one has ever asked us for a high maintenance garden!
All of our gardens have been designed to be as low maintenance as possible. We understand that many of our clients don’t have the time or energy to do a lot of maintenance, so we create gardens that look beautiful with minimal effort.
Will you be able to come back if we have any further work to do?
Floral & Hardy specialise in the design and build of complete gardens. There isn’t usually any reason for us to return, as every aspect of the design will have been completed. However, if you move house, have a second property, or want to re-design your garden a few years down the line, then please do get in touch.
What if we don’t like some of the plants?
When your design is completed, we include a full plant list based on your preferences, this will include images for your reference along with names of plant varieties . At this stage, you can tell us if there are any plants you would like to substitute, and we’ll find suitable alternatives.
What if a plant dies soon after planting?
All of your plants are guaranteed to establish in their first year. If they die during this period, then we will be happy to replace them free of charge.
Will you provide us with some tips and hints for maintaining the garden?
We will provide care instructions for all plants, which will help them to establish and thrive in your new garden.
What areas do you cover?
We cover London and the Home Counties, which includes Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, and Essex.
Would I pay upon completion?
We would require staged payments throughout the project. This will be discussed and agreed upon agreement of your final fixed price quotation.
Do you work with commercial clients?
Floral & Hardy occasionally design commercial gardens, but we don’t take part in tender process’s.
What’s the best time of year for landscaping to be done?
Although it’s best to plant in Spring or Autumn, we offer design and landscaping services all year round. We would take factors such as the weather into account when planning the build.
Do you offer a free quote?
We offer a free initial meeting to discuss the project and your budget, and at that point can start to give you an idea about the potential cost.
