This was a striking 1930’s property in Esher
This was a striking 1930’s property with the clean lines and white rendered finish typical of the period.
Our clients wanted to complement the building with the design for the garden, but they also needed to turn their uninviting plot into a space that would be practical for a young family to use and enjoy.
Rather than go with straight lines and angles, we chose a bold circular theme for the design, which ties in very well with the 1930’s style of the house.
Next to the house we created a spacious, decked seating area surrounded by raised planting beds, rendered and painted white to match the house.
Beyond that a curving path edges the large lawn and leads to the storage shed that will eventually be masked from view by lush planting.
To the side of the house, the underused space was made safe for our clients’ toddler by adding a fence and gate at the end, and also more beautiful with colourful planting and new turf.
