We have recently started this garden design project in Tunbridge Wells. Check back for regular updates and have a read through the site analysis below.
This is the rear garden to a modern, recently extended, detached property in a quiet residential road. The garden is broadly rectangular but measures a little over 23ms wide by 20ms deep .
The property is set on a slope so there is a steep bank on one side, retained by a loose laid stone wall, and a drop off at the other side protected simply by concrete slabs leaning up against the slope.
The garden is mainly laid to lawn but there is a narrow area of paving next to the house as well as a circular area of crazy paving towards the back right hand corner. There are some mature shrubs and trees in the borders set around
the boundaries. The garden is bounded by fences on three sides, one of which is in need of partial replacement.
The back of the house faces north-east, but as this is a corner property the garden does receive the sun in the late afternoon and evening.
Soil samples taken from around the garden show that the soil is PH7.5, which is alkaline, but still suitable for a wide range of planting.
